Workers can focus more on their families and health as the work process becomes more automated. Healthcare will also expand to include menopausal counseling and gender transition assistance. The future of business will concentrate on being socially responsible and compassionate towards employees as the job becomes increasingly automated.
The futurologist Ian Pearson claims that, although employees have operated machines in the past, the future will see jobs centered around interpersonal and emotional abilities.
He suggests we’ll be hearing more of a term over the next few years, “Care Economy,” because the new technology allows people to concentrate on their people.
Companies will be faced with attracting new employees by creating an environmentally responsible brand, prioritizing social benefit over profit, donating to local events, and subsidizing clubs, schools, and recreation facilities.
Creche-related benefits such as holidays and healthcare will be expanded to include menopausal counseling, support for gender changes, and wellness services like massage rooms and relaxation rooms.
But the news isn’t all positive for employees since an increase in work at home can lead to surveillance cameras that use faces and gesture recognition to ensure that employees are working at their desks and completing their jobs.
The findings are based on research on 500 SME owners commissioned through Funding Circle. Those asked to expect to see the similarity of fingerprint-scannable doors and relaxation rooms becoming real shortly.
Interactive photos have been developed that show how various businesses, like clothing stores and hair salons, might be in the future.
Ian Pearson said: “I believe that meeting rooms will be “cozy” and primarily used for interviews and appraisals instead of daily tasks – while hot desks will become typical for office workers as well as AI robots that can store and unload things for employees.
“When it comes down to specific companies, clothing stores permit customers to walk to booths dressed in swimsuits and scan their body to make a 3D model that results in clothing being designed to exact measurements and less inventory on the floors of shops.
“While food stores and restaurants already have self-checkouts in place, they’ll take things one step further, making it possible for pre-packaged goods to be delivered by phone, immediately, no matter where customers are.”
The study also revealed automatic cleaning of kitchens and toilets and robots that assist in tidying up and free counseling or therapy are among the features SME owners wish to have as an integral part of their business shortly.
One in five (19 percent) have already embraced flexible work hours for their staff. Twenty percent offer gender-neutral support. Nine percent are equipped with cameras and microphones in the home office.
It also found that 57 percent of respondents believe that their business would still be able to function even if employees were entirely at home, but only 33% (32 percent) believe this is an option shortly.
Regarding technology replacing human roles, 41 percent said the Advantage is being able to operate their company all day long, but 57% enjoy the benefits of face-to-face interaction with humans. Despite this, however, one in five (19 percent) anticipate replacing employees with technology shortly, which 14 percent have already done. They predict that staff numbers will fall by 19 percent over five years.
Business owners are more likely to utilize robotics. They AI shortly to assist with cleaning (31 percent) and hazardous jobs (26 percent) and aiding in the creation of products (25 percent).
While 45 percent believe that human resources will always be required to help their company, 37 percent think robots can help companies expand.
People who were polled via OnePoll report feeling optimistic (41 percent) and enthusiastic (30 percent), and motivated (29 percent) about the changes they will make to their business in the coming years.

“Some of these changes may be realized sooner than we imagine; therefore, business owners must be prepared economically and practically.
“It’s wonderful to see employee health becoming a top priority shortly and using technology to benefit.”
